Welcome to the Orphanarium!

Welcome to the Orphanarium!

Where stories are told, life is lived, and magic happens every day. Here at the Orphanarium we work hard to make sure each Poppet has good manners, learns new life skills, and is ready for adoption.

Playing in the back yard is strongly encouraged.

This is Preston, host of Poppet Radio. He spends his days playing in the woods when he’s not in the studio with his co-hosts Franklin and Evie.

Preston and Lulu

Preston and Lulu

Climbing tress is an essential skill and like most kids, Poppets have a rich imagination. Here, Preston and Lulu experiment with what it would be like to be koalas.

The world is a big place and Poppets love to explore it.

Some Poppets are outdoorsy, some love to read and build things inside. It’s important to help support who they are and who they will become.

Remembering every Poppet

Remembering every Poppet

We keep logs of every Poppet that moves through the Orphanarium. So many have grown up here so we make sure to keep accurate logs of each kid before they move on to new families.

Sometimes nightmares

Sometimes nightmares

It’s not always easy to acclimate to a new home and new siblings.

World travel

World travel

Poppets are excellent ambassadors. Ma Peebs took these two on the trip of their lives. Here they are exploring Tiergarten in Berlin.

Such small and mighty friends.

Such small and mighty friends.

Poppets are very small and it’s important to keep track of them. It would be a very bad day if we lost one another in a foreign city.

We miss you Cosmo! How fun it was to talk about the Cosmos with you. Carl Sagan was your inspiration. Hopefully your new home has a telescope to see the stars.

Who got glasses?

Who got glasses?

A happy photo of Ren when she wore her glasses for the first time. We noticed she was bumping into things so we made sure she got an eye exam. It turns out she’s rather nearsighted.

Hangin' out

Hangin’ out and shootin’ the poop on Ma Peebs big ol’ bed.

Conjoined Twins

Conjoined Twins

Conjoined twins are very rare, and we are always thrilled with the ‘double yoke’ orbs that produce them. Two heads are better than one!

Story time

Story time

Poppets LOVE stories, especially at bedtime.

Rumors

Rumors

Word gets out fast when someone gets adopted. It’s an exciting and also sad event.

By the riverside

By the riverside

Camping and being outdoors is good for the soul. Ansel is by the riverside having deep thoughts on this beautiful summer day.

Camp outs

It’s true, Ma Peebs spoils her Poppets with beautiful blankets and sleeping bags for campouts, a favorite pass time.

A new outfit for Ada

A Poppet’s first outfit is an important day. Lot’s of discussion goes into what colors they like, and what style of hat suits them best.

Well hello Ilsa!

Ilsa discoverd a beautiful broach under the couch and she now wears it with pride.

Who doesn’t love forts? A friend of the Orpanarium built this gorgeous fort for a day by the river.

Style, panache and mystery

Style, panache and mystery

From sequin and fur bean bags to unique and stylish outerwear, Poppets do live in luxury.

Solitary persuits

Solitary persuits

Some of our Poppets like their alone time. The sound of rain on the window is so soothing.

Room in there for me?

Room in there for me?

Jealousy does sometimes happen, so it’s important to share the coziest spots.

Orlan and the acorn

Orlan and the acorn

If you look closely you will see a tiny acorn adorning Orland’s neck. That’s because he loves oak trees and hopes to live inside one someday.

Rainy days

Rainy days

When it’s gloomy outside we make sure the Poppets have things to do indoors. Sometimes it’s cooking classes or drawing lessons. Other times everyone gathers in the Rompus Room for play time and movies.
