'Morpho' an Online Exhibition

Our culture is going through a monumental shift. Relying on what was for a sense of identity during systemic breakdown guarantees existential dread. Turning the microscope inward, though, gave me an idea. As our country is working through the dramatic throes of evolution, so am I.

The word ‘Morph’ keeps coming to mind, so I decided to focus on a body of work around the concept of the in-between; the place where what we were no longer serves us, and who we will become is unfolding in real time. Allowing this new collection to be born means stepping out of the way. I don’t know who the paintings will become. All I know is that they, like me, are morphing into

something else.

We are allowed to define our borders. What leaks in from the outside world is superseded by a self-determined posture; exploring an open state of morphing, rewriting, and active recreation means the discomfort of breaking out of our shell is infinitely preferable to the slow suffocation of staying safely inside it.

Rather than having an in-person exhibition, new works will be posted as they are completed.
